Ground Turkey Tacos + Spicy Cilantro Sauce
Turkey tacos with grain-free shells and a homemade spicy cilantro sauce! Yum!
INGREDIENTS
2 tbsp Olive oil
2 lbs @butcherbox ground turkey
1 tbsp Garlic Powder
1 tbsp Onion Powder
1 tbsp Smoked Paprika
1/2 tbsp Salt
Lettuce
Tomatoes, chopped
Red onion, chopped
Grain-free taco shells by @sietefoods
For the Cilantro Sauce:
(Inspired by @bewellbykelly!)
4 cups fresh cilantro or about 2 bunches
1 Serrano pepper
1 tbsp garlic, minced
1 tsp salt
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp sumac
1 cup extra-virgin olive oil
DIRECTIONS
Start with the ground turkey. Cook on low/med heat with a little olive oil and season to taste. Cook until there’s no more pink, usually 20-30 mins then let cool and refrigerate (I usually make this the night before or morning of since it takes a while and then I just reheat quickly on the stovetop at dinner time).
Next, whip up the sauce. Combine all ingredients in a high-speed blender, taste, and adjust as needed.
Finally, chop the veggies and salad. When you’re ready to plate, put the sauce in a squeeze bottle for a more controlled drizzle.
