Golden Milk
Golden Milk is the perfect warming noncaffeinated beverage that’s great for a bedtime or afternoon snack. The turmeric powder gives it its golden hue, but also packs in some serious anti-inflammatory properties that are beneficial for athletes or stressed individuals.
Don’t be afraid of the pinch of black pepper! You won’t taste it, but it enhances turmeric absorption so you’ll get more bang for your buck.
INGREDIENTS
1 cup of coconut or almond milk
1 tsp coconut oil
1 tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp minced ginger
½ tsp cinnamon
Pinch of black pepper
Honey to taste
DIRECTIONS
Heat all of the ingredients together on a stovetop and drink warm. Optional: strain out the minced ginger and/ or froth with a milk frother for a smoother/ lighter texture. You can also blend all of the ingredients in a blender, warm up the mixture, and drink.
